Living Deliberately Project – Week 17

This week on the LDP…

A trip to the exotic Albany, NY! Katie’s 30th Birthday! Shopping at TJMaxx!

Let’s start at the beginning:

This past week Katie was on vacation. As such, we had scheduled a planned getaway to Albany for Katie’s new “ink.” Whilst there we met a old friend for dinner at Bombers Burrito Bar, and then indulged in some wine at our hotel. Dinner was not included in LDP; the wine was ($12). We then grabbed some lunch on our way back up at Little Anthony’s (the same place as last week’s post-dissertation defense outing). Later that night, back in Saint Albans, we purchased a six pack of Corona to continue the vacation. The Corona, of course, was included in the LDP ($8).

Katie’s birthday was on Saturday, but her mom had deposited her some BDay $ in the bankaccount a bit earlier. As a treat, Katie took a trip to TJMaxx for some clothing and house sundries. Super Birthday $ covered some new clothes (including a cute dress for Jon’s graduation), a new vegan bag, some glasses and case; plus two candles to de-stink the new apartment we are moving into.

We also ate out at YAMA for Katie’s birthday. It is a nice little Japanese restaurant run by a cute couple. For a mere $36 we got edamame, 5 maki rolls, and pan-fried noodles! Delicious.

Saturday was also Maple Fest in Saint Albans, and our local brewery, 14th Star, was open for the occasion. This necessitated a growler fill; so the remainder of our money went to filling one with their hoppily delectable Valor Ale.

The damages: $55 for the week. $0 left for the month.

(I know April ends next Tuesday; it is just easier to end it now for the LDP sake.)

So that is it for the end of month 4! Month 4! Wow, I can’t believe that we have made it this far. Things are moving along so well, and we are enjoying ourselves so much, I cannot wait to see how the rest of the year goes and what new challenges will come.
