Living Deliberately Project – Week 21
This week in the LDP…
saw very little spending because, well, we simply didn’t have time. It was a very long week for both of us as Katie worked during the day and I worked at night. We simply didn’t see each other. That said, the only thing that was bought was 1 beer ($3.50) because I had a really, really crazy day at work; and then 1 taco ($2.50) because I needed a quick snack.
That means that we spent $6 for the week, leaving us with $30 for the rest of the month. We might head over to Plattsburgh on Memorial Day to see a movie and hang out for a bit. If not, then it looks like we will have a surplus for the month!
Perhaps the answer to spending money is to simply be too busy (he says rhetorically). Ok, probably not. Being too busy at work leaves little time for life; it leaves little time to have new and exciting experiences. I had a crazy experience of running a trail 1/2 marathon this week and I hope to get a race report up soon. It was the most intense, difficult run I have done (perhaps even more so than the 50k)…perhaps…
I included the picture of the fiddleheads because we ate the first ones of the season. The best place to get them is at a farmers market or co-op that has fresh produce. If they sit for too long they tend to have an asparagus/musty taste, so try for the fresher the better! The best way to eat them is just to sauté them up with some butter, salt, and pepper—simple and delicious.
Hope you all are doing well and that your week went well. Find a moment this weekend to say “thank you” to someone you know. Saying thanks and expressing gratitude is not often done as much as it should be, and I for one want to try to do this more often.
