Living Deliverately Project – Week 34

by nomeatbarefeet

This week in the LDP…

We had no $$$ for the remainder of the month, so the spending was zilch. That being said, Katie needed to purchase work clothes being that the school year starts next week. I don’t yet know what it means to own a “professional wardrobe”…khaki and black polos really don’t count. She found some pretty great steals from TJMaxx, including some great dresses. We know that sometimes buying clothes is needed, especially for Katie’s work. That is just the way of it, and we have made allowances in the LDP by-laws.

Not to shirk LDP responsibilities but there really is not much more to say. Not having any money to dip into makes choosing whether to spend pretty simple. 🙂 We took a day out in the “city” (read: Burlington), walking around Church Street, stoping in a few stores, getting groceries at City Market, getting a juice at Eco Bean (we had their Green Caffeine).

That is about it. The weather has clung to summer, though the temps haven’t gotten too bad. A few days of humidity to remind us of what could have been, and a few chilly mornings to remind us of what is to come.

Our CSA is finally showing a bit of diversity in the available selection—perhaps the early wet weather made the growing overly difficult—however we are still getting too much Swiss Chard for my liking (its just a tad too bitter). Summer squash and zucchini…tasty and wonderful in a risotto. Hopefully all of you can enjoy a delicious meal with someone you love. Fall/winter cooking is some of our favorite, so we cannot wait for the weather to get a bit colder.

Thought I would end with a painting by Maurice Sapiro, a blogger I follow. I have always found his work to be quite beautiful. Check out is site by clicking on the painting.
