Many of you have read our previous review of the North Coast Organics deodorants, Death by Lavender (Woman) and Revolver (Men). Both Katie and I loved the trials that North Coast was kind enough to provide us, however we wanted to try out the full size as well. Additionally, Katie wanted to review their mint lip balm, LSQ (named after Logan Square, Chicago, the home of North Coast Organics). Nathan, one of the co-founders of North Coast, also threw in a free trail of their new Lotion Bar. Thanks Nathan!

Revolver deodorant (full size)

There isn’t much to say about this that I haven’t already said in the previous review. I love it. It is a great deodorant. The full size takes a few turns of the applicator to get the deodorant up above the outside of the container, and it can be a bit flakey and crumbly at first. Once you get beyond the first few uses that goes away and it seems to work fine. Keeps me smelling good for most of the day without having to reapply.

LSQ lip balm

I was excited about the lip balm, but was unsure about it after the first use. It has a gritty consistency that seemed to go on too heavy. On first use it broke apart and got all over my lips—in a bad way, just smearing everywhere. This was totally my own fault. It does not apply like traditional lip balms, but rather requires a more deft hand. Only twist up a small amount and apply it sparingly at first until you get the desired amount. While I have come to like the gritty texture, I immediately loved the flavor. The mint is great. Really enjoy this.

Lotion Bar (Floral)

The Lotion Bar was a surprise inclusion in my order, and I will admit at first I had no idea how to use it. I thought maybe it was like soap and needed to be used with water. Wrong. Use it just like lotion. You rub it on your hands—I hold it in one hand and rub it into the palm of the other then rub my hands together. It smells great, moisturizes my hands, and actually beads off water (hence my confusion when I first tried to use it; not the smartest thing!). I really like having a bar lotion. It is not as gooey as a pump lotion, plus it does a good job of moisturizing and beading water off your hands.I now use it before heading off for a run to ensure that my hands are not chaffing; then I use it again after I get out of the shower. This stuff is great.

If you want to buy any of these head over to the North Coast Organics homepage and take a look around. They are some of the nicest people and they will quickly answer any questions you might have about their products.
