Living Deliberately Project – Week 43
This week in the LDP…
We did something that we don’t normally do: we went to a concert! While I am a Dr. Jon we got a chance to see the Dr. John. For those of you who don’t know Dr. John is one of New Orleans most famous blues/jazz/zydeco musicians. Being that Katie and I love the music and culture of New Orleans we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to check him out. He’s the Doctor for crying out loud!
We were able to use some of the money my parents shot our way a few weeks ago to pay for tickets, which, for a legend like Dr. John was an absolute steal. The only irk was the drunk/high group of students down the row from us…if you are going to be a nuisance do it back in your damn dorm or over on Church St. Leave the show alone!
We were also able to grab a bite to eat at Revolution Kitchen. The food was incredible (again), leading us to designate it as “our place.” Dinner started with Vegan Nachos…let me just say that it was amazing to have nachos with melted Daiya on them. sigh. I ordered the Seitan Piccata and Katie had the Ravioli with artichokes, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes in a pesto kale sauce. (My apologies for the quality of the photos: the lighting is really dim in the restaurant so the food doesn’t look as beautiful and vibrate as it does in persons. You will just have to go and find out!)
Having a night out with dinner and a show was so very nice. We don’t get a chance that often and it came after a particularly rough day.
So there you go. Really no money was spent from our LDP expenditure thanks to Mama and Papa Auyer, so we are still left with $19 for the final week of the month.
The days are really starting to turn cold: sweaters are out. coffee is hot. mittens are on. Enjoy these days.
