Living Deliberately Project – Week 44
This week in the LDP…
We ended this month at a zero balance, spending the last of our money on Chinese out together. Sometimes the simplest meals shared together are the most special 🙂 That is about it for this week. Katie did purchase a new warmer pair of shoes for school but has to return them because they don’t fit. The other upcoming shoe issue (which I plan on writing a full post about) is that we both are going to need new hiking boots. We have each slowly rid our lives of items that are made of animal products, and our boots are made of leather. We have had them for a while now, but personally I feel that we cannot continue to wear them. Again, I’ll talk more about this in an upcoming post on ditching clothing/items. Needless to say we won’t be buying any new ones for a few weeks.
I think that does it for this week. It seemed like October flew by…until we hit my birthday: then it moved slower than molasses in January (as Katie puts it). Things just came to a standstill. But now it’s November. Another of my favorite months. It is this time every year that we get to sponsor turkeys from Farm Sanctuary. This year we got to sponsor 2 turkeys: Tulip and Tom! I will put their pictures up soon; for now I’ll just say that we love sponsoring these sweet animals, helping them have a safe and relaxing place to live out the remainder of their lives, and hopefully showing people that you can enjoy Thanksgiving without eating animals.
(Here is a quick video of the rescue of a single little turkey-girl from California.)
