Python facts: the world’s longest snakes | Animal Fact Files

Pythons are non-venomous snakes that use constriction to subdue their prey. They’re also the longest living snakes! That’s right, the anaconda might be the largest, but reticulated pythons are longer. Pythons are Old World snakes, and are considered primitive because they have two functions lungs. Most snakes only have one functioning lung (the right one, for anyone wondering). Pythons also have vestigial limbs called spurs. They might be similar to boas, but there’s one key difference between boas and pythons we want to discuss in this episode. There’s lots to learn about these amazing snakes!
