After being abandoned by 20 different families, a girl with Down syndrome finds her soul mate in a gay guy.
The world is filled of people who need assistance and, thankfully, those who want to assist others. Call it chance or fate, but these two types of people occasionally cross paths. As if that wasn’t enough, such encounters can forge the strongest relationships, as in the example of Luca Trapanese, who adopted Alba and radically transformed their lives.
After being abandoned by 20 different families, a girl with Down syndrome finds her soul mate in a gay guy.
At first, the future father had to face numerous obstacles. It appears that Luca and Alba’s initial meeting was fated.
Luca had recently ended a significant engagement with his lover, and Alba had been placed for adoption by her biological mother. The little girl had previously been rejected by 20 adoptive families by the time they met. Luca came to her aid in July 2017.
They are completely inseparable. For a long time, Luca had wished to become a parent, but being gay and single seemed to be a significant obstacle to adoption. Surrogacy is not a possibility in Italy, and gay fathers are not included on birth certificates as co-parents.
Luca was told that he could only adopt a disabled or seriously ill child. He was unconcerned about it.
Luca was supposed to be Alba’s father.Luca’s Instagram is full of poignant images that demonstrate how his 45-year-old life revolves around his loving princess. «I’m a single dad who is madly in love with his daughter,» he wrote on his page.
Alba is now four years old, and her life with her father has been full with great experiences. Luca accepts fatherhood as his life’s role. When interviewed, he exclaims, «I’m meant to be a father!» He enjoys committing himself to his daughter’s development. Alba is now his number one focus.
Their lives are far from monotonous.Spending time together is something that both father and daughter enjoy. They both adore dancing and singing, and Luca considers Alba to be a true pro at both.
They’ve achieved numerous successes and crossed many bridges together. The most joyful moments for Luca were when Alba called him «daddy» and when she walked for the first time.Learning to walk is a big accomplishment for any child. But the first steps and words of a person with Down syndrome are even more precious.
