Florence Pugh Does Modern Marilyn On The Red Carpet

129

Another year, another opportunity for Florence Pugh to shape-shift into a variety of characters on the red carpet. At the Golden Globes on Sunday evening, the star was giving rockabilly retro in the hair department. A couple of days later–at the Governors Awards in Hollywood–found Pugh delivering modern Marilyn Monroe.

Proving that short hairstyles don’t have to be restrictive, the actor attended the ceremony with her hair coiffed into a contemporary take on Monroe’s famous peroxide pin-up curls. The original details were there: the voluminous roots and the curls, but Pugh’s iteration felt softer and flickier than its predecessor. And it suited her perfectly.

With a flawless white-blonde color (perfected by Matt Rez), and styling by Adir Abergel, Pugh’s hair radiated health, despite being recently bleached. Paired with an embellished pale pink Rodarte gown–complete with Old Hollywood-esque corsage–a diffused feline flick and rosy lips, it was the ultimate movie star moment. We can’t wait to see what she does next.
