Bullseye Gets A Gritty Suit Upgrade For His MCU Return In New Fan Art

Following news of Wilson Bethel’s return to the MCU as Benjamin Poindexter’s Bullseye, the Daredevil: Born Again villain gets a gritty suit upgrade in dark new fan art. Wilson Bethel first appeared as FBI Special Agent Benjamin Poindexter in Daredevil season 3, and was manipulated by Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to masquerade as Daredevil and discredit the heroism of the Man Without Fear. Despite being teased as a more powerful villain at the end of Daredevil season 3, Wilson Bethel’s future as Bullseye was left unclear after Daredevil’s cancelation, but it seems he will now be returning to the MCU.

On January 23, 2024, Comicbook.com reported that Wilson Bethel would be returning as Benjamin Poindexter’s Bullseye in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. Bethel’s return is hugely exciting, prompting his MCU villain to be imagined with a grounded costume in new fan art shared by Charles Logan.

The art depicts Bullseye in a variation of his Daredevil season 3 suit – based on Daredevil’s own design – which has been adorned with bullseye patterns and the villain’s iconic logo from Marvel Comics. This dark suit would fit perfectly into the dramatic storyline unfolding in Phase 5’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again.

When Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige first announced the development of Daredevil: Born Again for Disney+ in 2022, the 18-episode series was expected to reinvent Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk after their debuts on Netflix. This divided audiences, as many wanted the previous Marvel Television series to be addressed, and potentially even continued. In the months since, Daredevil: Born Again has been looking more and more like Daredevil season 4, as Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and now Wilson Bethel will all reportedly reprise their roles.

Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin Poindexter was one of the most popular aspects of Daredevil season 3. Not only did he deliver a powerful adversary for Matt Murdock’s Daredevil, but he also acted as a vehicle to showcase the range of Kingpin’s influence and skills of manipulation. Poindexter was also the subject of one of Marvel Television’s biggest cliffhangers, as Daredevil season 3 ended with his spine being reinforced following his battle with Kingpin and Daredevil. In Marvel Comics, Bullseye is enhanced with adamantium, so Daredevil: Born Again could now create the opportunity for new adamantium-powered heroes to debut, including Wolverine.
