Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are joining forces for the upcoming Marvel film Deadpool 3.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which will introduce Deadpool to the MCU, potentially paving the way for some crossover events with other Marvel characters.
X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has recently teased Deadpool 3 will save everything.
In a recent interview with BroBible, Vaughn was asked about his thoughts on the upcoming R-rated Marvel film.
Vaughn expressed his excitement for the film and went as far as to say that Deadpool 3 could be a “jolt” that could potentially save the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe’s current state of things.
Vaugh said: “That’s going to be the jolt… the Marvel universe is about to have a jolt of them and it’s going to bring that body back to life… I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the whole Marvel universe.”
The X-Men: First Class director also hopes that Deadpool 3 will be a success and bring back Marvel’s lost glory in the past few years.
He said: “I’m a genuine fan of the X-Men, all I want is for the movies to be as good as they should be.”
Although Matthew Vaughn is not associated with Deadpool 3, he has helmed Marvel films like X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
In Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise the role of the titular anti-hero Deadpool, whose real name is Wade Wilson while Hugh Jackman is returning as the adamantium-clawed mutant Wolverine.
A recent synopsis for Deadpool 3 reads: “After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis, Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement.”
“He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy.”
Deadpool 3 is helmed by Shawn Levy from a script penned by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Zeb Wells.
The film’s cast also includes Hugh Jackman as Wolverine/James Logan Howlett, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios.
The trailer for Deadpool 3 is expected to premiere at Super Bowl event in February this year.
