Marmalade star Joe Keery reacted to finding out his Stranger Things co-star Joseph Quinn had landed a huge role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe recently, in the most Joe Keery way possible.

Quinn, who starred alongside Keery in Stranger Things as Eddie Munson, has officially been confirmed to be playing Johnny Storm aka Human Torch in Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four movie.

Keery shared his reaction while talking to Daniel Merrifield aka The Movie Dweeb about his latest project, Marmalade.

When asked if he had heard the news that Quinn landed the role as the next live-action Human Torch for the MCU, Keery asked: “That’s an official thing now?”

When told that Quinn’s casting is indeed official, Keery said: “I think that for all Joes that this is a good thing, me included.”

He continued: “This is fantastic, it’s official – it’s great. I’ve got to text him right now, I’m going to text him.”

Keery then went on to state that he hadn’t heard on the “down low” about Quinn’s casting, prior to Marvel Studios confirming the news.

“No, I didn’t know if it was official (…) I didn’t want to pry, I didn’t want to jinx it for him,” Keery said.

He continued: “You know, as a fellow Joe.”

He added: “It’s cool, it’s so cool. I wonder where [they’re going to film it].”

Joining Quinn in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four reboot are Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Rumours that Quinn was in talks for the role made their way onto the internet months before the studio confirmed the news, however, fans can rest easy now knowing it’s finally official.

Although the main team lineup has been officially cast, additional plot and casting information has yet to be revealed – including which villain or villains will be in the movie, as well as who will be playing them.
