Jeremy Renner Shares Reunion With Loki Star at People’s Choice Awards

Acclaimed actor Jeremy Renner warms the hearts of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans everywhere with an Instagram story showing Hawkeye and Loki embracing at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.

As reported by People, Renner shared a video on Instagram of himself hugging and speaking with Loki lead star Tom Hiddleston during the People’s Choice Awards on Feb. 18 in Santa Monica. The video was accompanied by the caption, “I ran into some old friends…” as he hailed his Avengers: Endgame co-star.

Renner was on hand at the People’s Choice Awards to present the TV Performance of the Year award to Grammy-winning singer Billie Eilish for her role in Swarm, before heading over to hug and catch up with Hiddleston during a commercial break. Hiddleston’s Loki also won big on the night, receiving the People’s Choice Award for the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show of the Year.

The People’s Choice Awards appearance was the latest from the actor amid recovery from a near-fatal snowplow accident at his Nevada home in January of last year, causing him severe leg and chest injuries. Renner was grateful to be on stage at the awards show, saying, “Gotta say, it feels good to be back. This year’s been a heck of a journey, and I’m happy to be here with you, the fans. You guys are the best. You guys really brought this year. You broke records. You turned movies into movements. We heard you all loud and clear, we heard you.”

Renner recently returned to work for the first time since his snowplow accident as he’s been filming Season 3 of the Paramount+ crime drama, Mayor of Kingstown. Renner admitted struggling with the rigorous work schedule since returning to shoot Mayor of Kingstown and that he was “scared” about how things would pan out, but stated he relished the challenge and believes he will adjust once he gets back to a normal routine. Mayor of Kingstown was renewed for a third season by Paramount last September.

Meanwhile, Hiddleston cast doubt on his MCU future following Loki Season 2, having played the central character to critical acclaim since the hit series began airing in 2021. However, Hiddleston, whose most recent big-screen appearance was in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has been rumored to make a potential appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine based on recently leaked set photos.
