“The Boys” scores early Season 5 renewal while Season 4 anticipation builds.

The highly anticipated Season 4 of The Boys is scheduled for release later this year.

Surprisingly, it appears that fans won’t have to wait long for Season 5, as a recent listing on Production List indicates that The Boys Season 5 is already in pre-production and slated to begin filming in April – even though there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding its renewal.

Details about Season 5 are under even tighter wraps than Season 4, as any small piece of information could spoil upcoming surprises.

Speculating about Season 5’s story is very difficult since it hinges on the outcome of Season 4.

Anything could happen at this point, including the possibility of Homelander (Anthony Starr) being killed.

His colleagues, associates and The Boys are all working towards that goal.

In Season 4 of The Boys, Simon Pegg is expected to reprise his role as Hughie’s father.

Amazon has confirmed that Rosemarie Dewitt will join the cast as Hughie’s mother, while Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight are also joining, though their characters remain a mystery for now.

Additionally, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in a secret role. He is rumored to play Joe Kessler, also known as The Monkey, who has close ties with Billy Butcher.

The official synopsis for The Boys Season 4 reads, “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power.”

“Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

Created by Eric Kripke, The Boys features a star-studded cast including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Jensen Ackles, and Paul Reiser.
