Henry Cavill Looks Better Than We Ever Imagined As Wolverine

Henry Cavill becomes Wolverine in pitch-perfect Marvel Cinematic Universe fan art. The actor has become famous for playing perhaps the most recognizable superhero ever — Superman — in the DCEU. However, now that David Corenswet has taken over the role for the new DC Universe, Cavill could play an MCU hero to keep being part of a major superhero movie franchise.

On Instagram, artist @21xfour shared an impressive look at Cavill as the MCU’s Wolverine.

Cavill is one of the many actors who have been fancast to take on the role of Logan in the MCU whenever the X-Men are introduced to the universe. Based on his fan-favorite turn as the gruff Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, the actor would be an excellent choice to play Wolverine in future MCU movies after Hugh Jackman retires from the role.

What Marvel Movie Roles Henry Cavill Could Play In The MCU

Cavill Would Be Great As Both MCU Heroes And Villains

While The Witcher has shown that Cavill could be fantastic as Wolverine, there are other roles for him if the actor ever joins the MCU. Continuing with the X-Men, the actor could give life to another major member of the team. As Superman in the DCEU, Cavill showed that he has the skills to deliver an inspirational and confident Cyclops in the MCU, making him the leader of the X-Men that Fox’s movies failed to present.

Cavill’s filmography has also shown that the star would be an interesting choice for a villain in the MCU. Among the many characters that have been thrown around by fans for Cavill is none other than Doctor Doom. Cavill is a great physical actor in the sense that he can give so much away without having to say any lines, simply through his body language. If Doctor Doom were to pretty much always keep his iconic mask on, then Cavill could make the villain as nuanced as he needs to be despite being barely shown onscreen.

Finally, Cavill has already revealed that he would be interested in playing Captain Britain in the MCU. As the character is part of the multiversal team known as the Captain Britain Corps, it would make sense for Brian Braddock to make his MCU debut during the Multiverse Saga. The MCU has also teased the formation of a team of British heroes in Secret Invasion, and that could lead to Henry Cavill’s favorite MCU casting choice coming true.

How Henry Cavill’s Upcoming Roles Could Impact His MCU Potential

The Former Superman Actor Has A New Franchise On The Way

While Cavill has left his two major franchise roles in Superman and Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher, the in-demand actor is not slowing down. An avid gamer, Cavill is developing projects based on the Warhammer 40,000 franchise for Amazon Studios. The actor will finally get the creative power to make decisions for a franchise he loves — with Cavill also starring in Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 projects — something he did not have as Superman.

Check out Henry Cavill’s upcoming projects below:

Project Release Date
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare April 19, 2024
Untitled Guy Ritchie project January 17, 2025
Highlander 2026
Warhammer 40,000 TBD

Starring in and helping develop a major franchise that will include movies, series, and possibly games/animation, will certainly reduce the amount of time Cavill would have free to play MCU characters like Wolverine or Captain Britain. Adding to the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 projects, Cavill has a few other projects lined up. After starring in director Guy Ritchie’s upcoming The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, the actor has already filmed an untitled new movie with the director, which could require reshoots before its January 2025 release.

Cavill has yet to begin filming his lead role in the announced Highlander reboot movie. The high-profile project will begin filming in 2024, which would make it difficult for Cavill to have any meaningful presence in the MCU for the foreseeable future. While Cavill has enough on his plate for the future, the actor could always end up joining the MCU in a smaller role. A cameo in one of Marvel’s upcoming projects would be enough to have audiences excited and possibly tease a future in the franchise for the actor whenever Henry Cavill‘s schedule clears up.
